Medical Device Prototyping, Without the 12-Week Wait

Traditional fabrication shops aren't built for medical device development. Long lead times, high minimum orders, and limited material libraries mean teams are waiting weeks for parts that aren't suitable for regulatory submissions. Every delay pushes back design validation, FDA timelines, and the path to clinical trials.

Simple Machining is built differently. Upload your CAD file, get an instant quote, and receive functional prototypes in engineering-grade materials, as fast as 1 business day. NDA available. No MOQs. No purchase orders. Just the parts you need to keep your device development cycle moving.

How Medical Device Teams Use Our Services

From first prototype to design validation, medical device engineers rely on our rapid prototyping and on-demand manufacturing capabilities.

Functional Prototyping

Test form, fit, and function before committing to expensive tooling. Validate ergonomics, assembly, and performance with parts printed in engineering-grade materials.

Design Validation

Iterate rapidly through design cycles. Print multiple variants in parallel and run functional tests in days, not weeks. Accelerate your path to design freeze.

Surgical Guides & Models

Custom patient-specific surgical guides, anatomical models, and pre-surgical planning aids. Printed in high-detail SLA or durable SLS nylon.

Device Housings & Enclosures

Custom electronics housings, control panels, and enclosures for medical instruments. Printed in durable, sterilization-compatible materials.

Lab & Test Fixtures

Custom jigs, fixtures, and test rigs for device testing and quality control. Replace machined tooling at a fraction of the cost and lead time.

Low-Volume Production

Bridge production runs of 10 to 500 units without tooling investment. Ideal for clinical trials, limited market releases, and ongoing low-volume supply.

Find the Right Process for Your Project

Select what matters most. We'll point you to the right process.

FDM 3D Printing

Get concept models in 1 to 2 days. Best for early-stage iteration, fit checks, and fast design cycles where speed matters more than finish.

Learn more about FDM →
SLS 3D Printing

Nylon parts with real mechanical properties. Handles snap fits, load-bearing assemblies, and complex geometry without support structures.

Learn more about SLS →
SLA 3D Printing

Smooth, high-detail parts for presentations, visual prototypes, and transparent or flexible components. Smoothest surface finish of any process we run.

Learn more about SLA →
MJF 3D Printing

Consistent mechanical properties across 10 to 500 parts. No tooling investment, no MOQs. Production-grade nylon with fast turnaround.

Learn more about MJF →
CNC Milling

Tight tolerances, threaded features, and metal-strength parts. For production-grade requirements where 3D printing won't cut it.

Medical Device FAQ

Yes. We offer mutual NDAs for all clients who require IP protection. Request one through our contact form or email info@simplemachining.com before uploading files.
We accept STL, STEP, OBJ, and 3MF files. For medical device work, STEP files are preferred for dimensional accuracy. If you have a different format, contact us and we'll work with you.
General tolerances are ±0.3 mm (±0.012") or ±0.3%, whichever is greater. Tighter tolerances are achievable with CNC post-machining. For devices requiring tighter specs, contact our team to discuss your specific requirements.
We can produce functional prototypes and pre-submission samples in materials appropriate for your testing requirements. We don't provide regulatory consulting, but our team can advise on material selection for your application. Talk to our team about your submission timeline.
