Architectural Models & Prototypes, Without the Wait

Traditional architectural model-making is slow, expensive, and limited in detail. Hand-built foam-core and basswood models take days or weeks, restrict geometric complexity, and often fall short for client presentations. When design revisions hit, starting over costs time your project schedule can't afford.

Simple Machining gives architects and builders a faster path. Upload your CAD or BIM file, get an instant quote, and receive detailed scale models, facade studies, or custom building components in days. High-resolution 3D printing captures intricate geometries that handcraft can't match, at a fraction of the time and cost. No MOQs, no setup fees, no waiting.

How Architects & Builders Use Our Services

From concept massing to construction-ready components, architects and builders rely on our 3D printing for speed and precision.

01 Scale Models

High-detail massing and presentation models at 1:50 to 1:500 scale. Capture complex facades, cantilevers, and double-height spaces that handcraft can't reproduce.

02 Design Presentations

Physical models for client reviews, design competitions, and planning submissions. White resin models with smooth finishes make a lasting impression.

03 Facade Studies

Print facade panels, screen patterns, and cladding prototypes to evaluate materiality, shadow play, and pattern repetition at full or reduced scale.

04 Site Models & Terrain

Topographic site models from GIS or CAD data. Print contour lines, elevation changes, and landscape context for site analysis and planning reviews.

05 Custom Building Components

Custom brackets, connectors, decorative elements, and hardware prototypes. Validate fit and form before committing to fabrication or casting.

06 Construction Prototyping

Print construction mockups, joint details, and assembly prototypes. Test buildability and communicate design intent to contractors before breaking ground.

Architecture & Construction FAQ

We produce architectural scale models from 1:500 site plans down to 1:20 detail models. Common scales include 1:200, 1:100, and 1:50. Models can be printed as single pieces or multi-part assemblies depending on size and detail requirements. Upload your file and we'll recommend the best approach for your scale.
Our largest single-piece build volume is approximately 300 x 300 x 500 mm (SLS) or 380 x 280 x 380 mm (MJF). For larger models, we split the design into interlocking sections and assemble post-print. We routinely produce assembled models exceeding 1 meter. Contact us for oversized projects.
Yes. We regularly print topographic site models, terrain contours, and landscape features from GIS or CAD data. FDM and SLS are ideal for large terrain bases, while SLA captures fine contour detail. Export your terrain as an STL or OBJ and upload for an instant quote.
For client-facing presentation models, SLA engineering resins deliver the smoothest surface finish and finest detail. White resin is popular for classic architectural models. For painted or finished models, SLS Nylon PA12 offers a consistent matte surface that takes primer and paint well. See all materials.
Standard lead times are 3 to 5 business days depending on process and model complexity. Rush production is available with turnaround as fast as 1 business day for qualifying orders. Upload your files to see lead time options with your instant quote.
