Engineering Prototypes, Without the Bottleneck

Traditional prototyping slows engineering teams down. Long lead times from machine shops, high minimum orders, and limited material options turn what should be a fast design iteration into a weeks-long wait. Every delay pushes back validation, testing, and launch.

Simple Machining eliminates that friction. Upload your CAD file, get an instant quote, and receive functional prototypes in engineering-grade materials, with turnaround as fast as one business day. No purchase orders, no MOQs, no setup fees. Just the parts you need to keep your product development cycle moving.

How Engineers Use Our Services

From first concept to production-ready parts, engineers rely on our rapid prototyping and on-demand manufacturing capabilities.

Functional Prototyping

Test form, fit, and function with parts printed in engineering-grade nylon, ABS, or carbon-fiber composites. Validate your design before committing to tooling.

Design Validation & Iteration

Rapid iteration cycles let you fail fast and refine faster. Print multiple design variants in parallel and test them side by side in days, not weeks.

Custom Fixtures & Tooling

Print test jigs, assembly fixtures, and production aids in durable nylon. Replace machined tooling at a fraction of the cost and lead time.

Low-Volume Production

Bridge production runs of 10 to 500 parts without tooling investment. Ideal for pre-launch validation, limited releases, or ongoing low-volume needs.

Proof of Concept

Turn CAD models into tangible prototypes for stakeholder demos, investor presentations, and internal concept validation. Make your ideas real.

R&D & Experimentation

Print custom lab apparatus, test rigs, and research components. Iterate on experimental setups without waiting on traditional fabrication.

What Engineers Say

★★★★★

"Simple Machining helped take our concept to a production-ready prototype. Their CAD and 3D printing support gave us confidence at every step. Professional, responsive, and reliable."

Kenny B.

★★★★★

"Needed a few parts 3D printed for a project. Extremely quick to respond. I had a quote at a reasonable rate within 2 hours of sending over my files and had high quality parts in my hand less than a week after. Highly recommend."

Jason J.

★★★★★

"I needed some help with a prototype product development project. This turned out to be the best possible decision. Avneet guided me through basics and produced several product models for me to evaluate. I have saved more time and money than I initially imagined."

Engineering FAQ

We accept STL, STEP, OBJ, and 3MF files. For best results, export your model as a STEP file for dimensional accuracy or STL with a minimum resolution of 0.05 mm. If you have a different format, contact us and we'll work with you.
General tolerances are ±0.3 mm (±0.012") or ±0.3%, whichever is greater. Tighter tolerances are achievable with CNC post-machining. Specific tolerances depend on the 3D printing process and material selected. SLA offers the finest detail, while SLS and MJF deliver the best mechanical performance.
We offer 8 engineering-grade materials: Nylon PA12, PA11, PA12-GF (glass-filled), PA12-CF (carbon fiber), ABS, ASA, PLA-CF, and PETG. Materials are selected for strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance, or flexibility depending on your application. See all materials.
Standard lead times are 3 to 5 business days depending on process and complexity. Rush production is available with turnaround as fast as 1 business day for qualifying orders. Upload your files to see lead time options with your instant quote.
Yes. Every order includes a basic engineering review to flag potential print issues such as thin walls, unsupported overhangs, or trapped volumes. For deeper design-for-manufacturing (DFM) support, our CAD team can help optimize your geometry for the chosen process and material.
